It feels like they were only just here making us all fall head over heels in love, but New Zealand's sweetest indie rockers, The Beths, today announce they are set to make a quick trip back across the dip to perform another run of shows this December. The band was just here in September for a special run of festival shows in Sydney (King St Crawl) and Brisbane (BIGSOUND), as well as a couple of dates in Melbourne. This time around the band will be headlining their run of east coast rock club shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. They will be supported by fellow Kiwis and BIGSOUND hype machines, Miss June. The Beths have continued from strength to strength since releasing their debut album Future Me Hates Me in August. They've received international acclaim from some of the biggest names in music media, from Pitchfork, NPR, Rolling Stone, triple j, Noisey, and Stereogum-just to name a few. The band is currently in the midst of a huge world tour across North America and Europe, and are then set to return to NZ to open for Bloc Party on their upcoming Silent Alarm tour in November. They will then return to Australia for this run of shows in December, before once again heading overseas to embark on a trip across Europe supporting indie rock legends Death Cab For Cutie.
The Beths have partnered with PLUS1 so that $1 from every ticket will go to the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation and their work raising language, literacy and numeracy standards for Indigenous, refugee and marginalised communities in Australia. www.alnf.org
